Who Can Apply

  • Kuwaiti nationality
  • Medical Doctor
  • Ministry of Health Employee
  • Successful completion of internship training by March 31, 2024
  • Not currently enrolled in any KIMS residency program (Kuwaiti board)
  • Not currently enrolled in any scholarship program outside of Kuwait
  • Not having an acceptance offer from any other university.
  • Except for Canadian University Graduates as they don't require PEAP before the Program

How to Apply

The registration button is located at the top right corner or at the bottom left of the webpage.

  • Click on "registration"
  • Fill in all the fields then click "register".
  • You will be automatically logged in and redirected to the application form
  • After completing the application, you must submit it.

Documents that you must provide with your application

  • Letter of Internship Completion "To Whom It May Concern".
    You can get it from the Internship Office at KIMS, 6th floor if you did your internship year in Kuwait.
  • Proof of Passing the MCCQE Part 1 exam with the full grades/scores breakdown (Transcript).
    NB. (McGill/Dalhousie/Western) universities will accept MCCEE exam
  • Proof of English proficiency:
    • If you are applying to Saskatchewan, Calgary or Alberta University: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic with a minimum score of 7 in each component, OET Medicine examination with a minimum grade of B each component, CELPIP General examination with a minimum score of 9 in each component, OR Candidates for whom their undergraduate or postgraduate medical education experience is in a country where English is the first and native language

    • For ALL other universities :
      • TOEFL, IELTS, OET-Medicine or CELPIP General (same scoring as above ), OR
      • Candidates for whom their medical school or residency was conducted in English, proof must be attached to the application, OR
      • World Directory of Medical Schools Language Option - A candidate can submit a copy or printout of the World Directory of Medical Schools website listing the medical school which clearly states that the language of instruction is English. https://search.wdoms.org
  • Your Medical College (Bachelor) Degree AND full transcript in English.
  • Your own C.V. in English
  • THREE Reference letters (within the past 2 years).
  • Letters of Intent describing personal and scientific achievements; specific experiences and electives related to the discipline, and the aim and rationale for wishing to join the specific residency training program to EACH university you would like to apply to.
  • Passport and Civil I.D Copy.
  • Valid Medical License Copy.
  • CV letter from Ministry of Health
  • If you are applying to McGill University then they require that you also apply online on their website and upload all your documents

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR McGill:

  • Nuclear Medicine : Fluency in French
  • Urology: working knowledge of French is required.
  • Medical genetics: written and oral French are strongly recommended.

BRITISH COLUMBIA /MANITOBA UNIVERSITIES

  • KIMS will only accept applications via online submission on our website. No documents or applications will be accepted at the scholarship department at KIMS.

    Any application that has not been successfully submitted WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR REVIEW.
  • Once your application is completed and submitted, we will review/process your application (may take up to 5 business days), and you will be receiving an email stating whether the KIMS Scholarship Department has approved or declined your application.
  • If the application is approved, you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EDIT OR UPDATE IT. Please be sure all your documents are correctly uploaded, updated and complete.
  • YOU CAN ONLY APPLY TO THE SAME SINGLE SPECIALTY THROUGHOUT ALL THE UNIVERSITIES (INCLUDING MCGILL, BRITISH COLUMBIA , MANITOBA). YOU MUST CHOOSE ONLY ONE SPECIALTY TO APPLY TO
